REFUSE COLLECTION 

All residents should ensure that they dispose of their rubbish in the correct way by placing rubbish outside ther own property, in black bags, either late on (after 18:00) before the collection day or early morning (before 06:00) on collection day.

Residents who place their bags out too early are causing the area to look untidy. In addition the bags get ripped by foxes, cats and dogs resulting in rubbish becoming a food source for rats. Such residents are not complying with the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and could be liable to a fine of £1000.

ABANDONED VEHICLES

Call the council's Contact Centre on 0121-303 1112 if you suspect a vehicle has been abandoned. Please advise if the vehicle is taxed, its precise location, make, model and registration number.

 

ASBESTOS REMOVAL

Asbestos is normally collected free of charge, although special conditions apply. The householder will be sent paperwork to complete in advance and all items must be double-wrapped. Items are usually collected within seven days of being reported from the front of your property. Call 0121-303 1112 for further information.

DRIVE-IN RECYCLING CENTRE

Situated in Holford Drive, Perry Barr. At this facility you can dispose of household and DIY waste as well as recycling a wide variety of items including batteries, electrical, fluorescent tubes, fridges, freezers, household waste, televisions, monitors, scrap metal, used engine oil, car batteries, building materials, wood, clothes, textiles, glass jars and bottles, soil, hardcore and rubble.
